The Copernicus Science Center (CKN) is a paradise for science, experiment and fun enthusiasts – regardless of age. It is not only the leading Warsaw attraction, but also one of the largest places of this type in Europe. At CKN you can discover the secrets of nature, conduct experiments and learn – independently or with the help of animators, at your own pace, without judging and without embarrassment.
The main exhibition hall
The central part of CKN is a huge open space on the first floor dedicated to nature and its perception by humans. This is a place for experiments at the experimental stations: here we will test the possibilities of our own body, sensitivity to light and color perception.
Daredevils can also experiment with strobes and sound, a nail – lines „fakir bed”, and a station where you can create mist rings – such as those visible over volcanoes.
Thematic rooms
There are also several themed rooms waiting for guests at CKN. In Majsternia (for children from 8 years of age) you can take up various types of challenges – engineering, scientific and logical, with everyday objects at your disposal. At this point, we will also make our own souvenirs from a visit to the center.
The BZZZ room (for children from 5 years of age) gives the opportunity to discover the world through the senses: here we will check how the ecosystem of the meadow functions and what relationships exist between its inhabitants. A wild river flows along the hall with cranks, screws and valves that you can touch and set in motion. Using colorful balls floating on the river, children test whether the fountains will lift them up and how the balls behave when they fall into the whirlpools. When planning a visit to this part of Copernicus, it is worth taking a change of clothes with you.
In the Re:Generacja gallery, you can find out what reactions occur in the human brain under the influence of various emotions. It is here that individual exhibits can be viewed, touched, auscultated and even smelt.
In the High Voltage Theater (from the age of 6) you can watch a show with electricity as the leitmotif. During the show, animators present experiments in various fields of science and encourage viewers to be active, such as entering a Faraday cage and watching lighting.
The Copernicus Science Center also features the world’s first Robotic Theater. You can enter the performances staged there as part of your entrance ticket to the center. The movements of the main actors. The RoboThespians are controlled by compressed air, and instead of the heart, 40-watt speakers are mounted in them. This is one of the most original parts of the Copernicus Science Center.
Other parts of the Copernicus Science Center
One of the most modern planetariums in Europe operates at the center. The audience is surrounded on all sides by a spherical screen, and the 3D technology gives a feeling of immersion in the displayed photos and videos. In the planetarium – for which separate tickets are valid – there are sky shows, film screenings, lectures and meetings.
The Discovery Park, created by artists, engineers and garden designers, is located around the modern, original shape of the Copernicus Science Center.

You can end your visit to the Copernicus Science Center is a unique garden on the roof of 23
the building. The very topography of the garden resembles a riverside landscape undergoing erosion. The paths – like streams gouging the soil – wind between craters that act as fireflies and pots with several dozen species of plants resistant to the difficult conditions of vegetation. From the roof there is a panorama of Powiśle and the Vistula River. It is an ideal place for relaxing in nature and walking. The garden is open from May to August. Free admission.
Practical information
Visitors usually spend 2 to 3 hours at the Copernicus Science Center (not counting visits to the planetarium, garden and park), but a single visit will not allow them to discover all the attractions of the place.
The Copernicus Science Center has a self – service bistro, a minibar with drinks and sweets, and in the sandwiches zone you can eat your lunch. The entire facility is accessible for wheelchairs (elevators, ramps), changing tables are available in the toilets. There is a gift shop at the exit.

How to get to Copernicus Science Center
The nearest metro station is called the Copernicus Science Center. In addition, you can get to the Copernicus Science Center by bus lines 103, 127, 162, 185.
Veturilo stations
The nearest stations are: at the Copernicus Science Center, from Lipowa Street and at the exit of the metro station, at the monument of the Warsaw Mermaid.
Parking
There is a paid car park on the premises of the Copernicus Science Center. You can also leave your car in front of the Copernicus Science Center in the paid parking zone (parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays).
