BIAŁE LAKE. PRIVATE BEACHES, DIVERS AND STALLETS

The Białe Lake is unique and extraordinary, even for the “Masovian Masuria”, i.e. the Gostynin Lake District. It is the cleanest reservoir in Mazovia and one of the cleanest in Poland. Private beaches attract tourists seeking peace, beautiful natural surroundings and delicious fried fish. At one time, the Białe Lake charmed Andrzej Wajda, who made the film „Tatarak” here. The lake is not only clean, but also exceptionally deep for our region, which is why divers like it, who have their amazing underwater playground here. In the area, there is the most famous Polish stallion stud and a castle Tsar Wasyl Szujski is said to be haunted. 

Private beaches and resorts 

The largest of them is the Białe Lake, which is well known to sunbathers, anglers and divers. The lake is surrounded by pine forests – a perfect place for cycling, walking and mushroom picking. 

Around Lake Białe, there are several holiday and agritourism centers offering not only accommodation and access to beaches, but also the possibility of renting boats and water bikes. In the vicinity, you can also take advantage of private accommodation, camping sites and tents, as well as restaurants, bars and fish bars. 

Crystal clear water and well – kept sandy beaches encourage you to rest by the lake. They are all private, i.e, intended only for guests of the centers. In some places you can use the beach itself for a small fee. 

Pod Lipami Beach 

Pod Lipami Beach is the most popular on the northern shore. This is a place where you can pitch a tent for a fee or park your camper, it is also possible to use the beach only (PLN 5). Guests have at their disposal a canoe and pedal boat rental, a gastronomic point as well as toilets and showers (PLN 2). A wooden pier leads to the lake, which is quite shallow in this place, and therefore ideal for playing with children. Rest from the sun is provided by the row lindens, which gave the beach its name. Please note that loud parties are organized here on weekend evenings. 

Beaches with full board

If you are looking for more intimate conditions, consider staying in the Agroturystyka Karpik resort, 15 minutes from the lake. In addition to accommodation, there is a bar with a fish bar, a pond for anglers and a playground with trampolines. If you prefer home cooking, it is worth visiting the Summer Bar Jastrzębiówka. 

On the southern shore of the lake, the „White Swan’ at Grandfather’s Beach” is particularly popular. Entry to the beach costs PLN 5, and a nearby food truck serves casseroles and burgers. There is also a small grocery store, sports equipment rentals and a volleyball court. Camping is facilitated by specially designated barbecue areas. You can also pitch a tent near the beach and caravanning enthusiasts can stop at the parking lot with sanitary facilities and water intake. 

In the vicinity there is the Whole Lake Campsite with accommodation in cottages and a parking lot for your own caravan or motorhome. Access to the beach only is payable. 

Underwater world 

The Białe Lake is popular not only among sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts, but also among amateurs of diving. All thanks to the depth, which in some places reaches even 31 meters. 

Diving sessions are organized at the White Springs diving base on the south – west shore of the lake. At this point, the bottom of the lake has been developed for diving enthusiasts: there are underwater structures, platformes, a labyrinth with mirrors, and at the bottom you can see a fishing boat, and even… a car wreck! 

Stud in Łąck

Rest in the vicinity of Lake Białe can be combined with a visit to the horse farm in Łąck. Before World War II, it was the largest stallion breeding farm in Poland and the old traditions of this place are still cultivated today. 

In Łąck, we will see historic stables and a carriage house with a collection of horse – drawn vehicles; a hotel also operates here. The horse farm hosts prestigious equestrian competitions and international horse auctions, as well as horse riding classes on a daily basis, including for beginners (riding on a lunge with an instructor) and hippotherapy. At a guests’ request, it is possible to organize horse – drawn carriages in the surrounding forests. 

Castle in Gostynin

Relaxing in the bosom of nature can be combined with visiting several interesting places in the area. One of the biggest attractions is the Gostynin Castle, which was built on the initiative of the Duke of Mazovia, Stiemowit IV, at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. 

The castle was once visited by eminent guests, including kings Władysław Jagiełło, Kazimierz Jagiellończyk, Zygmunt the Old and Zygmunt August. And Tsar Wasyl Szujski, who apparently still hounts there… 

During the partitions, the castle served as an evangelical church. Today it houses a hotel, restaurant and tourist information point.
