The Lagoon in Borki is one of the favorite summer vacation destinations for the inhabitants of Radom and the surrounding area – it is especially visited on hot days. In 2021, there were more reasons to go to the reservoir, because both the reservoir and the infrastructure around it have undergone a thorough modernization.
Bathing is possible from the side of Stasiecki Street from the beginning of July 2021. The exceptionally clean water encourages swimming (this is the effect of aerators and other modern technical solutions). The safety of the holidaymakers is ensured by lifeguards, and the attractiveness of the reservoir is enhanced by walking platforms and fountains powered by energy from photovoltaic panels and a small wind farm.
In Borki you can swim, relax on the beach, and take advantage of the additional attractions of the beach: volleyball, mini basketball and football fields, and a point with water equipment, where you can rent, among other things, SUP boards. The youngest holiday makers like the playground with trampolines the most. You can finish the day of the rest by the water by lighting a barbecue in a specially designated area.
Following in the footsteps of Iga Świątek and Hubert Hurkacz, you will be interested in the fact that in the vicinity of the reservoir (at 19 Bulwarowa Street) there are indoor and open tennis cours. There is a tennis wall at the disposal of „white sports’ ‘ enthusiasts who prefer to train alone. Games equipment – rackets and balls can be rented on site.
There is Radom City Bike station by the water, so it is easy to get to the reservoir from the city center and other parts of it, the more so as the lagoon is surrounded by a bicycle path, which is also eagerly used by inline skaters. Right next to the reservoir there is a three – star Hotel Promenada Biznes & Wypoczynek. In addition to accommodation and restaurants, among the amenities offered to guests of the facility is a bicycle and poles rental (for Nordic walking training, you can go along the green tourist trail running along the lagoon shore).
We also have good information for motorists – there are a dozen or so parking spaces on the lagoon in a guarded car park at Kosowska Street, as well as directly at the tennis courts.
