There used to be a dozen or so water mills on the Wilga River. One of the largest was the royal mill in Rębków, and the largest lagoon was the mill in Cyganówka. None of them has survived to this day, but in the landscape of the river valley in many places water weirs and trims have been preserved, which additionally contribute to the attractiveness and specificity of the area.

The Wilga, the right tributary of the Vistula (72km), is a picturesque, demanding river and an interesting trail, partially marked. It is narrow to Miastkowo Kościelne, it can only be crossed in spring and winter. Before Garwolin, it widens, outside the city its current accelerates, there are rapids, fallen trees and the need to carry-over at the mill. There are variable water levels in the river, the deepest is before and behind Garwolin, and in the lower section, before the village of Wilga, there are shallows.
About the River
The Wilga is the second longest right – bank tributary of the Vistula after the Świder river in southern Mazovia, with its source in the Lubelskie Voivodeship. It flows through the Żelechowska Plateau and the Garwolin Plain to the Middle Vistula Valley. It flows through Wola Mysłowska, Miastków Kościelny, and Garwolin, while its mouth is in the town of Wilga.
